Description
Yoga in the Desikachar tradition is a holistic practice. The focus is not on learning spectacular postures, but on practicing movement in conjunction with breathing, concentration and mindfulness. The term Viniyoga is derived from Sanskrit and describes a special approach to yoga exercises. The focus is on the individual person with their needs, abilities and limitations. The exercises in group classes are therefore individually adapted. A gradually building practice is developed, the effectiveness of which extends into everyday life. Special attention is paid to the breath, which is combined with movement during the exercises. The breath shows very quickly whether we are relaxed or overwhelmed and stressed. In this way, we can take a step back, feel ourselves better, consciously draw breath and adopt a new perspective towards greater well-being and balance.
