Description
A little bit of Scotland in the middle of Germany
Undulating dunes and winds of various strengths, sparse vegetation and stone shard obstacles. What seems atypical for East Westphalia is characteristic of the Paderborn plateau and the Haxterhöhe Links golf course. Features of traditional dune courses are combined with the conditions on the plateau in the south of Paderborn and forward-looking maintenance and playing methods.
The course design was created by Achim Reinmuth (Städler Golf Courses). The shaping was carried out by Conor J. Walsh.
Enjoyable play for every golfer, an emphasis on golfing skill and tactics and sustainable course management are the basic ideas of the Haxterhöhe Links.
The architecture, maintenance and therefore the entire eco-system of the Haxterhöhe Links golf course meet the criteria of the Golf Environment Organization.
The home club on the course is the Paderborn University Golf Club. Since it was founded in 2004, over 1300 members have found their golfing home here. Big, small, old, young, with and without disabilities: everyone has the opportunity here to find their way into the wonderful sport of golf.
For people with different amounts of time and money, there are various memberships that take this into account. The University Golf Club is committed to the guiding principles of inclusion, sustainability and science and implements these in all areas.
All members have the idea of sport at heart: a sporty and respectful "you" when addressing each other, sharing golfing experiences, supporting other players and enjoying the game together.
