Description
Our everyday life between work, appointments and the pulsating life in the big city challenges us every day. Constant availability, pressure to perform and full calendars leave little room to pause and therefore, like everything in life, we need a balance to find equilibrium (yin and yang). This is exactly what Yin Yoga is ideal for.
Yin yoga is a calm, relaxing and meditative style of yoga in which the postures are mainly held in a sitting or lying position for several minutes. Yin yoga is not about muscle strength or flowing movements, but about letting go, not having to do anything and just being yourself. The positions gently stretch the deeper layers of connective tissue, fascia and tendons and reactivate blocked energy pathways (meridians), which not only makes us more flexible, but also stimulates the vagus nerve and calms the parasympathetic nervous system, which signals to our body that it is safe and ready to go into relaxation mode. We also support this process with breathing exercises (pranayama) and a final relaxation.
